About Us

Who We Are

The Yardley-Makefield Fire Company was founded on December 14, 1897 after a meeting of concerned citizens following a fire at Cadwallader’s Store on the corner of Main and Afton. Since then, the All-Volunteer Fire Company has been proudly serving the citizens of Yardley Borough and Lower Makefield Township with Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services around the clock.

Every single member of this Fire Company, from officers and firefighters to fire police and administrative personnel, are volunteers. We are your neighbors, local shop owners, and friends who have made a commitment to answer the call when our community is in need.
