For the 5-day period of August 3rd through August 7th the all-volunteer Yardley Makefield Fire Company responded to 41 calls.

 

August 3 — Dispatched for an activated carbon monoxide alarm at a home on South Delaware Avenue, in the Yardley Crossing development.

August 4— Dispatched for 18 calls during hurricane Isaias. There were 6 activated fire alarms at homes on Sutphin Pines Way, Fieldstone Lane, Jade Road, Heacock Road, and twice at the Oxford Oaks Shopping Center, on Big Oak Road. There were 4 activated carbon monoxide alarm at South Kimbles Road, Kings Road, Heller Drive, and Hayfield Drive. There were 4 calls for burning electrical wires on South Canal Street, Big Oak Road, Edgewood Road, and Ivy Lane. There was 1 fumes in the area call, on Stackhouse Drive. There was 1 special assignment to assist the squad with a patient on Sterling Road, in the Brookstone development. There were 2 mutual aid assists. The first one was for a dwelling fire on Carlisle Drive in Morrisville. The second one was for Marine 0 to respond to Perkasie and cover their district which had severe flooding.

August 5 — Dispatched for 11 calls. There were 2 activated carbon monoxide alarms at homes on Noreen Drive and Sylvan Terrace. There were 3 activated fire alarms at a home on Jade Road, at the Oxford Oaks Shopping Center on Big Oak Road, and at the Wells Fargo Bank on Heacock Road. There was a fire investigation on Lantern Court, a generator fire on Oxford Road, burning electrical wires on Taylorsville Road, and a special assignment to assist the squad with a patient at a home in Yardley Commons. There was a call for “fumes in the dwelling” at a home on Plymouth Lane. Finally, there was a working dwelling fire at a home on Springdale Terrace, near Anderson Road.

August 6 — Dispatched for 5 calls. The first call was for a mutual aid assist to Langhorne (Station 22), for Engine 80 to respond for a dwelling fire on Oakwynne Terrace, in the Laurel Oaks development. The second call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Long Acre Lane, in the Yardley Estates development. The third call was for burning electrical wires inside a home on Plymouth Lane, near Concord Lane. The fourth call was for burning electrical wires in the rear of a home on Woodland Drive, near Edgewood Road. The fifth call was for an activated fire alarm at a home in the Sutphin Pines development, off Sutphin Road.

August 7 — Dispatched for 6 calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Brookfield Road, in the Farmview development. The second call was for burning electrical wires near a home on Sylvan Terrace, near Edgewood Road. The third call was for a mutual aid assist to Upper Makefield (Station 71), for Ladder 0 and Engine 0 to respond for a house hit by lightning, on Glenwood Drive. The fourth call was for a fire investigation at a home possibly hit by lightning on Ardsley Road, in the River Glen development. The fifth call was for an activated fire alarm at the Yardley United Methodist Church, on Yardley Langhorne Road. The sixth call was for an activated fire alarm at another home on Brookfield Road, in the Farmview development.
