River Glen development.
October 5 — Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at St.
Andrew’s parish house, on West Afton Avenue. The second call was for an activated fire alarm at
Edgewood Elementary School, on Oxford Valley Road.
October 6 — Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at Manor
Care Health Services, on Oxford Valley Road. The second call was for a mutual aid assist to Langhorne
(Station 22), for Ladder 80 to respond for burning electrical wires inside a home in the Shady Brook
development, off Village Road.
October 8 — Dispatched for an activated fire alarm at a home on Thistlewood Drive, in the
Year to date, the all-volunteer Yardley Makefield Fire Company responded to 424 calls. For

Everyone is reminded that the Yardley Makefield Fire Company will be holding our annual Fire
Prevention Open House at our Woodside firehouse, which is located at the intersection of Stony Hill
Road and Heacock Road. There will be live fire demonstrations, an auto extrication, and many hands-
on events that the public will be invited to participate in. Activities will take place on Friday, October
, from 6 pm until 9 pm. Come out and meet the men and women who protect our community.
