  • <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">The fire truck is a 1937 Studebaker 1 ½ ton J15-62 (the “62” indicates a 162-inch wheel base) cowl chassis that is fitted with a Hale Fire Pump body.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>The 37 Studebaker cowl chassis is serial number J15-733, and it is fitted with a 218 cubic-inch Studebaker L-head six with engine number 1T-17331.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>It has a gross vehicle weight (GVW) of 11,200 pounds.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>The Studebaker cowl chassis was ordered in 1937 by Dilliplane Motors, the Studebaker dealership in Yardley, Pennsylvania.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>It was then shipped to near <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:City><st1:place>Philadelphia</st1:place></st1:City> where the Hale fire engine body was installed.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN>The bright red Studebaker-Hale fire truck was delivered to the Yardley Fire Company and became Yardley No. 1.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">  </SPAN></P>
