| For the week of August 24th through August 30th, the all-volunteer Yardley Makefield Fire Company responded to 20 calls.
August 24 --- Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Van Horn Avenue, near Harper Avenue. The second call was for a mutual aid assignment for Ladder 0 to respond and cover Falls (Station 30), while all their units were tied up at a house fire.
August 25 --- Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at the St. Ignatius School on Reading Avenue. The second call was for a domestic rescue at a home on Gainsway Road, near Lakeview Drive.
August 26 --- Dispatched for six calls. The first call was dispatched for a mutual aid assist to Fairless Hills (Station 31), for Engine 80 to respond for a building fire at the Sheraton Hotel on Oxford Valley Road. The second call was for an activated fire alarm at the Delaware Arms Apartments on North Delaware Avenue. The third call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Hammond Drive, near Norman Drive. The fourth call was for a marine rescue on the Delaware River, in the area of Afton Avenue, for a boat in distress. The fifth call was dispatched for a special assignment to assist the squad with a patient on Lexington Drive, in the Yardley Hunt development. The sixth call was for a mutual aid assist to Langhorne (Station 21), for Engine 80 to respond for a fire at Jefferson Woods, on Harpers Crossing Road.
August 27 --- Dispatched for four calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at St. John's Parish Center on Big Oak Road. The second call was for a mutual aid assignment for Tower 80 to respond and cover Newtown (Station 45), while all their units were tied up at a house fire. The third call was dispatched for a mutual aid assist to Fairless Hills (Station 31), for Tower 80 to respond for a building fire at LA Fitness, on Oxford Valley Road. The fourth call was for a mutual aid assist to Fairless Hills (Station 31), for Tower 80 to respond again to LA Fitness on Oxford Valley Road.
August 28 --- Dispatched on a mutual aid assist to Morrisville (Station 98), for Rescue 0 to respond for an auto extrication at the intersection of South Pennsylvania Avenue and Philadelphia Avenue.
August 29 --- Dispatched for three calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Gordon Drive, off Norman Drive. The second call was for was for an activated fire alarm at a home on North Crescent Boulevard, near Edgewood Road. The third call was for an activated gas alarm at a home on Silverwood Drive, in the Dolington Estates development.
August 30 --- Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for an auto extrication at the intersection of Oxford Valley Road and Route 1 Superhighway. The second call was dispatched for an activated fire alarm on Lehigh Drive, off Yardley Langhorne Road.
