For the period of August 8th through August 16th the all-volunteer Yardley Makefield Fire Company responded to 10 calls.

August 8 — Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Harvard Drive, in the Sandy Run development. The second call was for an activated fire alarm at the Yardley United Methodist Church, on Yardley Langhorne Road.

August 9— Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Friar Drive, in the Wynnewood development. The second call was for a possible electrical fire at a home on Winthrop Drive, in the Yardley Hunt development.

August 10 — Dispatched for a working fire at a home on Orchard Way, near Green Ridge Road, that required mutual aid from several departments.

August 12 — Dispatched for an activated fire alarm at St. Ignatius School, on Reading Avenue.

August 13— Dispatched for a mutual aid assist to Langhorne (Station 22), for Ladder 80 to respond for a building fire on Big Oak Road.

August 14 — Dispatched for an activated fire alarm at the Yardley Animal Kennel, on Reading Avenue.

August 16 — Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for a water flow alarm at the Rittenhouse Village Nursing Home, on Township Line Road. The second call was for a special assignment to assist the squad with a patient on Grant Way, in the Regency development.
