For the week of July 30 th through August 6 th the all-volunteer Yardley Makefield Fire Company responded to 18 calls.

July 31 — Dispatched for “fumes” in the area of a home on Doe Trail Lane, in the Buck Creek
development.
August 1 — Dispatched for two calls. The first call was for an activated fire alarm at the
Golden China Restaurant, on Floral Vale Boulevard. The second call was for an activated fire alarm at a
home in the Sutphin Pines development, off Sutphin Road.
August 2 — Dispatched for five calls. The first call was for burning electrical wires that fell
across the road near the entrance of the Polo Run Apartments, on Yardley Langhorne Road. The
second call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Mirror Lake Road, near Stapler Road. The
third call was for burning electrical wires on a pole, at the intersection of Main Street and Afton
Avenue. The fourth call was for a stuck elevator at the office building in the Floral Vale Professional
Park. The fifth call was for a mutual aid assist to Falls (Station 30), for Engine 0 to respond for an
apartment fire at the Alexandria Apartments, on Plaza Boulevard.
August 3 — Dispatched for a “fumes in the dwelling” at a home on Stackhouse Drive, near
Laurel Lane.
August 4 — Dispatched for three calls. The first call was for burning electrical wires on a pole,
near a home on River Road. The second call was for a jack-knifed tractor trailer fire on Interstate 95,
just south of the Yardley Newtown exit. The third call was for a mutual aid assist to Morrisville (Station
98), for Ladder 0 to respond for a building fire at the Canal Laundry, on West Bridge Street.
August 5 — Dispatched for three calls. The first call was for a dwelling fire at a home on Clark
Drive, in the Yardley Hunt development. The second call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on
Waterwheel Drive, in the Mill Run development. The third call was for a grill fire at a home on
Woodview Road, near Greenview Road.
August 6 — Dispatched for three calls. The first call was for a special assignment to assist the
squad with a patient at the Woodside Presbyterian Church, on Edgewood Road. The second call was
for a mutual aid assist to Langhorne (Station 22), for Engine 80 to respond for a dwelling fire on Clear
Creek Road. The third call was for an activated fire alarm at a home on Bridle Estates Drive, near Colts
Lane.
Year to date, the all-volunteer Yardley Makefield Fire Company responded to 350 calls. For
